There are a variety of surgeries carried out on these areas of the body.
Severe eye problems are related to birth defects involving eyelid abnormalities. Other eye problems involve ulcers to the cornea, some of which require surgical repair.
A common ear surgery is a result of a hematoma of the ear flap. Often the animal has an ear infection and shakes its head. A blood vessel may rupture causing a large soft fluid build-up in the ear flap. Surgical correction is usually necessary to correct this problem.
Nose and throat surgeries vary but are often associated with trauma such as stick, grass seeds or bones penetrating the tissue, causing abscesses.
Also, tumours can invade these tissues and require surgical removal.
